Stuff I don’t wear enough! ~Jewellery Edition~

Thankfully, there isn’t a lot to mention in this post, because thing is, I’ve accumulated a lot of jewellery over the last few years and it would be a crying shame if most of it ended up neglected in a drawer. However, a few pieces have fallen victim to such a sad fate and so I figured it was time to give them the spotlight (at least briefly) before they are once again condemned to the darkness… (lol, dramatic much?)

Let's start with the rings:

River Song Faux Snow Opal Ring by Shop Dixi
Excalibur Amethyst Ring by Shop Dixi

So, even without these two I already have quite a few rings from Shop Dixi. Which then begs the question: ‘umm, if you have so many and never wear these ones, then why did you even bother wasting money on them in the first place?’. Well, dear critical reader, that is an excellent question, except… did you see the rings?? They’re so freaking gorgeous! Particularly the snow opal one, UGH, it is such a beauty! Sadly though, seeing as it is quite the statement piece (compared to all my other rings, that is) and as I don’t ever have an occasion these days to be, well, making statements, it just sits around, very neglected but never forgotten. Sigh.

As for the other ring, well… it’s not just a matter of having no occasion to wear it, but also due to the style of ring (wrap around) I find myself conflicted over whether or not I should be wearing it due to it maybe clashing too much with my very religiously worn wrap-around piece from Bloody Mary Metal (which can be vaguely seen in just about every ootd post i have…). Hmm… what do you think? Is it just me who’s making issues out of nothing?

Celeste Necklace by The Serpent's Club
(worn higher for photographing purposes, but actually falls somewhere around the boob/sternum area)

Oh my gosh I absolutely fell in love with this piece from The Serpent’s Club when I saw it being worn by the beautiful Olivia Emily and knew instantly that I just had to have it! However, as it is such a delicate and, once again, statement piece, I find it both difficult to find the occasion to wear it, and also the willingness to potentially bring it to harm. For example, the first and so far only time I did wear it was when I first got my hands on it, and what did I stupidly do? Knock it against a cupboard door. Well done, me. And while there doesn’t seem to be any damage, I’m just super paranoid, you know? It’s such a precious piece and I can’t bear to potentially put it in harm’s way!

Lovegood Choker by Black Moon Shop

I think this is the oldest piece out of all the ones I’ve featured in this post, which will then also mean that it is the most neglected piece of all, seeing as how I don’t think I’ve ever worn it. Wow. That’s terrible. Again, the issue is not really finding a good occasion for wearing it, which is stupid because I could so easily do an ootd with this at the forefront. Which in fact I might just do. Yeah, I think that’ll have to be the way to go, because it’s too pretty to be kept in hiding forever and there’s also no way I’m passing it on to anyone because not only is it no longer available, but it’s also one of the first presents I got for myself when I first started working way back when! Ah, nostalgia…

Lastly, we have this stunning choker by Regal Rose. Regal Rose has so many beautiful pieces that I'm always drooling over, but this ended up being the one I snatched up after much debate as I figured it would be easy to wear with a lot of outfits. Which is it. But, once again, I have that stupid issue of ‘but i want to protect it and keep it in pristine condition forever!’, which is stupid, because for reals, why then even bother buying pretty things like this in the first place?? I will say though, that I think out of all the pieces in this post this is the one that I’ve worn the most, which is good, but… still not good enough!!

Well there you have it. Bonafide evidence that I am very much a hoarder. Of pretty things. Of shiny things. So basically I’m a dragon. Or maybe a magpie... but I prefer dragon.

I think I will try taking my own advice for once and at least strive to pull these out once in a while for ootd’s, though we’ll have to wait and see how that one goes. At least I’ve now shared them with the public so that maybe you all, my lovely readers, can call me out after, say, a year if I haven’t featured at least one of these jewels in another post!? Hopefully that won’t be necessary…

And now lastly, as a bonus (which maybe i’ll tack on to the end of every post from now on?!), here’s a crappy selfie I took after playing around with KvD’s MetalMatte palette (see my earlier post about it here) and Kiko liquid lipstick! Enjoy! xD

(yes, i know my lips are wonky, no need to further point it out... xP)

PS.: again, another wordy post! is everyone okay with this?? because i find it very hard to restrain myself from writing essays unless explicitly told not to... =/

Jewellery Haul!!~ (Black Moon, Noctua, Accessorize, etc.)

This post honestly would have come out sooner, had I not been a little too ambitious and attempted to actually make a haul video, but, then I realised that I don't have the editing software, memory space, etc., so that was a fail. Instead, I'll have to break up my rather formidable late-2014-early-2015 haul and we're gonna start with jewellery, woo!

So right at the end of December I decided to go a little crazy and buy myself a load of trinkets because, hey, why not actually get some Christmas presents for once, even if they're from me to me? And so I did!

(L-R)

These first items come from a site called Noctua, which I happened on by chance when I realised that most online stores for this kind of jewellery (think Druzy Dreams, Shop Dixi, Regal Rose, etc.), though super popular amongst bloggers, are just that tiny bit out of my price range.

All the items themselves are very reasonably priced and are just as lovely in person as they are in the photos. The piece I was most excited about was the 'Blandior' choker, and I am just loving it! ^^

Up next is this stunning choker by Black Moon and I absolutely adore this piece! It reminds me of the chokers by Regal Rose, and although I'm sure the quality is not quite on par, the Black Moon version is still a pretty awesome alternative at a fraction of the cost.

(L-R)
'Indian Princess' ring - £14
Star and Moon stacking rings - £15
Moonstone ring - £7 (approx.)
Wishbone ring - £12 (approx.)
Abalone shell ring - £14 (approx.)

I went a bit crazy when it came to rings because I had just become SO sick of buying rings from stores like H&M and Forever 21 and having my fingers turn green within a couple of hours of wearing them, SO, I felt it a reasonable investment to buy a bunch of sterling silver rings instead! The first two are from Accessorize and I'm a little annoyed to be honest because had I waited another couple of weeks I could have gotten them in the sale instead! Baka...

The other three I purchased from the Stables Market in Camden (an essential shopping stop when visiting london!) and I am sooo happy with these, you have no idea! The reason they all say 'approx.' after the prices is because I've forgotten how much they were all supposed to be seeing as how I haggled for better prices on all of them... but yeah, I'd been trawling through sites like Amelia May and Gemporia, but for the most part the rings I found were either too expensive or just weren't my style, so thank goodness for market haggling!

Luna necklace - £3.50

This lovely cresent moon necklace was an absolute steal at a mere £3.50 and I picked it up from an etsy store called The Moon Above. Most stores I've browsed through are selling almost identical pieces for anything from £8 to £18! Plus, the chain on this is silver plated, so I won't be having to worry about my neck going green any time soon! ^^

So that's all the jewellery I've been spending all ma money on recently. I'm really happy with everything that I've bought (so much so that I'm constantly tempted to buy more!) it's been really fun to have all these new things to layer and style with outfits. Yayyy.

Leg garters mini haul!~

A few posts ago I wrote about how I ordered some leg garters and had already received the Urban Outfitters one (debuted in this post) and was just waiting on the other two before I could make a post about them, and now that I have all of them, well, here it is!

As I just said, the first one I received was the Urban Outfitters one and I bought it more out of curiosity more than anything (that's the great thing about ebay - curiosity satisfied at little cost!), especially after seeing the way blogger Ashley J rocks hers on a regular basis. However, before I could even sample it, I discovered the Little Black Mess garter from Choies.com and fell in love with it instantly! In my haze of absolute want for the darn thing, I bought it with only little hesitation, only to regret the amount of money I spent almost instantly. And how did I resolve that? By seeing if etsy.com had anything cheaper to make up for it. Erm... what? xD

When I found the Hellosullivan shop there I was totally amazed by the variety and the affordability of everything! I wanted it all! It actually took me a while to buy this one, as I spent aaages deciding between like, 3 designs, though I probably wouldn't have minded had I chosen otherwise. This one was just the cheapest option. And did I mention that they're all made to order? Size-wise that is. How awesome is that? Totally affordable and made specifically for you!

So yeah, to wrap this up, though I'm struggling to find occasions to wear these beauties, I'm glad I have them (even if it did set me back like, £30), and will make sure you see more of them in future outfit posts!

Forever 21 Mini Haul~

Okay, so I've watched a few haul videos in the past and have a vague idea of what's meant to happen and all that, but should I stray from the point, I deeply apologise. ><

I am really quite happy with Forever 21 at the moment. I was really quite worried, because I only made my order 2 days ago and according to the site I had missed the last orders for Christmas post, so was kind of sad I'd have to wait til after, but then, was pleasantly surprised when I received a text (they text shipping updates to you - how awesome is that?) saying I would get it this morning! I don't care what people say about Forever 21 being 'the American version of Primark', as they're already miles better in my book. Now let's get to the stuff.

See what I mean by mini? I literally just wanted to buy those bows as part of Annie's xmas present, but then decided I might as well take full advantage of postage costs as well, so yeah...

As I said, I got these for my friend Annie for Christmas as I know she's quite a fan of bows. I really like the watercolour-y ones at the top; they're really soft and cute and I just love the colour! The black and blue sparkly ones are also quite nice, but I don't know, I just prefer the other one really. Had there been more options of colours, I wouldn't have bothered with the bottom two to be honest, but meh, they're still nice anyway.

This was part of their sale and I just thought 'eh, why not' and went for it. I must say, I was quite worried that it wouldn't fit me as a few hair bands I've tried in the past have been far too loose for my head and I end up better suiting children's hair things, but, thankfully, it fits, and quite comfortably at that, so I'm happy. Also, something I'd like to point out, the quality is actually really good for it's price, so I don't see why people keep on comparing F21 to Primark, they're sooo much better! Had I gotten this in Primark, the studs probably would have been plastic or really light and cheap, but this doesn't feel that way at all, so I'm sorry Primark, but it's F21 all the way with me.

This was really just a random buy to bulk up the order a bit and was also part of the sale section. They're a little flimsy to be honest, and the one on the left has a gem missing, but oh well, I'm not exactly going to cause a fuss over it. They were, after all, only 99p...

By the way, don't even bother asking about the colour configuration; simply put, I was too lazy. Anyway, I've been looking for a waist belt recently but hadn't been able to find one reasonably priced or well fitting or nice looking. Until I saw this. Now, anyone that knows me will know I'm a HUGE star fanatic, so this skinny waist belt with cut out stars is just so perfect for me! And it doesn't feel super cheap AND it fits me nicely, SO, I'd say this purchase was quite a win. ^^

So that's what I bought. I would say more, but then it would turn into a review rather than me just showing off my new stuff (or is it already a review? i don't even know!). I will, however, just like to mention, that this is my fourth time ordering from Forever 21, and I am always very pleased with their service and would highly recommend it to anyone liking a good bargain and receiving text messages about when their package is going to arrive. =3

Oh, and one more thing! The Forever 21 online sale is still currently happening, so go have a look, there's tons of really great stuff!

PS.: should i put the links up to all the stuff i bought? i can't really be bothered, to be honest, but if anyone wants links then just let me know and i'll add them. took me ages to go through all the stuff on the site, so if anything here has caught your fancy, better get the link off me than to go scrolling for years to look for it!
